ABSTRACT OF THE CLASS 1970-1975 MINI-HIGH SCHOOL

 GRAND REUNION

FEBRUARY 20-21, 2010

 

Day 1 - GRAND NIGHT

Venue:  DWCU Gymnasium

 

·         Reception tables were set up at the entrance of the gymnasium.  Class representatives manned the reception.

·         4:00 PM - registration started with the arrivals of the Alumni and their guests.

·         Alumni signed in at the registration book and were given their name tags, t-shirts, programs of the event, and their souvenir programs.

·         Attendees for the following:  Class 1970 = 15; Class 1971 = 12; Class 1972 = 14; Class 1973 = 19; Class 1974 = 22; Class 1975 = 20

·         At around 5:15 PM, the group proceeded to the DWCU Chapel for the concelebrated Mass presided by the President of DWCU Rev. Fr. Dominador O. Ramos, SVD.

·         After the Mass, alumni and guests reassembled at the gymnasium for the program.

·         Music and audio were provided with live band.

·         At around 7:00 PM, the MCs (Dr. Adelaida Serafica-Deogracias of Class 1970; Mr. Elpidio R. Angeles, Jr. of Class 1973; and Mrs. Marilyn Sarga-Mararac of Class 1973) signed on to start the program.

·         Invocation was given by Rev. Fr. Jose Alberto A. Viernes, Class 1975.

·         The singing of the Pambansang Awit was led by Mrs. Cirila Gozon-Celeste, Class 1974.

·         Mrs. Marilyn Laroco, High School Coordinator of DWCU was supposed to deliver the Welcome Address but was not able to attend because of miscommunication.

·         Dr. Mauro V. Mondala Jr., Class 1974 and Chairman of the Core Group Organizers of the Mini-Grand Reunion gave a short Welcome Address and delivered his Opening Remarks.

·         Dr. Cesar C. Ubaldo, Valedictorian of Class 1970 was supposed to give the Inspirational Message but was not able to attend for unknown reason.  His accommodation was to be shouldered by his classmates after he confirmed his attendance.

·         The rest of the night was spent with testimonials, raffles and lots of drinks and dances with former schoolmates, former teachers, and DI’s.

·         The activities ended at around 1:00 AM.

   

Day 2 - FAMILY DAY

Venue:  Goldland Spring Resort, Cayambanan, Urdaneta City

 

·         At 8:00 AM, alumni, families and guests assembled at the resort’s multi-purpose hall.

·         The entire morning was spent mostly chatting with friends and former classmates, drinking, and the kids went swimming.

·         There were some parlor games and prizes given.

·         Potluck lunch was served.

·         Business meeting started after lunch.  The Organizing Committee was recognized for their job well done.  There were suggestions that the organizing committee should be retained as is under the same leadership but Dr. Mauro V. Mondala, Jr. politely declined.  He agreed on the request to convene with the different Class representatives to decide for the next leadership and other plans for future reunions.

·         The activities ended at around 3:30 PM.
